campaign research

Today we had the secretary of the Cambridge and district trades union Tom Woodcock come into our class and talk about a variety of different campaigns he is involved in and how we can get involved in these sort of campaigns. He spoke about different aspects of campaigning like petitioning and website advertisement, he also told us how to understand the subject of starting up a new campaign and how to spread your message.

One campaign that he was discussing in class and one which caught my attention is the "No Mill Road Tesco". I choose this one because i agree with the campaign because i think like many people that putting a Tesco on mill road is wrong. The reasons for me thinking this is because Mill road is a multi cultural part of cambridge with a lot of family and local business and by putting a Tesco in the centre of mill road would potentially ruin a lot of these shops down.
When tom came in and spoke to us he used very persausive language to promote his campaigns to us as a class. He came across as a very passionate person who wants the best for the public.
