campaign research
Today we had the secretary of the Cambridge and district trades union Tom Woodcock come into our class and talk about a variety of different campaigns he is involved in and how we can get involved in these sort of campaigns. He spoke about different aspects of campaigning like petitioning and website advertisement, he also told us how to understand the subject of starting up a new campaign and how to spread your message.
One campaign that he was discussing in class and one which caught my attention is the "No Mill Road Tesco". I choose this one because i agree with the campaign because i think like many people that putting a Tesco on mill road is wrong. The reasons for me thinking this is because Mill road is a multi cultural part of cambridge with a lot of family and local business and by putting a Tesco in the centre of mill road would potentially ruin a lot of these shops down.
When tom came in and spoke to us he used very persausive language to promote his campaigns to us as a class. He came across as a very passionate person who wants the best for the public.

t-shirt campaign
My t-shirt campaign is about not to steal music. I have chose this idea because i love music and i like to legally purchase my music. The design for my campaign is very simple and quite retro in a way, the design is a big stereo player in the middle of the shirt and with red lettering underneath saying "Don't steal music"
I reasons for me choosing this certain campaign is because i love music and i don't want it to be ruined by illegal downloads off the internet.

stencil art evaulation
In this task we had to create a stencil to stick onto our t-shirt, during this task i have learnt many techniques and have seen other stencil work from graffiti artists such as banksy and the french grafifti artist blek le rat. What i learnt about this task was that it was easy and simple and does not take that long to organise or finish. Also working and researching graffifti art was pretty good and very useful for the future in making our real t-shirt.
I thought the task would be quite challenging but i thought it was quite simple and easy. That might be because my design was very easy and just like a five minute job which didnt take up much time.
If i could change anything about my design because it was too easy and it wasent as good as it maybe should have been or should i thought it should had been.

Homework task
For this task i have chosen three campaigns, the first is to make a campaign which benefits my life, the second is to select a campaign which made a difference to someone else's life. And the final one is to create a campaign which made someone else laugh. All three campaigns will be shown on t-shirts to promote the idea's we come up with.
The first campaign i have created to improve the quality of my life is to make me go on holiday more. The reasons for me creating this one is because everyone loves a good holiday and especcially me, and also it would appeal to the 16-19 target audience. The reasons for this being is because when your young you want to go out and see the world and that classifies as a holiday going and seeing the world and when your young you are free and independent, there is no children running around wanting to be looked after and there is no wife nagging you all the time about pointless and stupid everyday things. What makes the campaign worthwhille is that its a chance to see the world to have a good time and just live life to its full extent. They are the reasons i have created this particular campaign.
The second t-shirt campaign i have created is to make an impact on other people's lives is to promote and campaign for more voluntary work at local hospitals. The reasons for this being a worthwhille and valuable is because you'd be helpning all sorts of people in need and that need help. This would appeal to the age group because they'd be helping someone in need and it would be a great working experience and for them a good life experience in helping the sick. And its a truly great cause to help another person to get well and become healthy once more. Its also useful to also meet other volentures who are the same age or slighly older than you and you learn some useful mediacal skills which you could maybe use in later life or you could decide to choose a career in medicine. But yes this would be an excellent campaign to promote on the t-shirts.
The third and final campaign which is to make another person smile is to for everyone to sponsor a rubber duck. The reaons for this being is because its funny its random and its different to other campaigns like this. It really has no value or use to it, its just there to make people smile

My t-shirt design
1. My design was one of 4 random designs that we as a class designed. Its not inspired as such i just thought that the design look good and i thought it would go well on a t-shirt.
2. I think the design is quite basic, i also think its quite good. When we were designing i just wanted to keep it simple and something that would look good aswell.
3. I didn't really picked my colours for any particular reason, i only picked them because i thought the colours looked good together on the design.
4. Well i think its different and slightly unique and thats what could appeal to the age group that is targeted. Its something you rarely see on a t-shirt so i thought it was an adequate design.
5. Well yes it probably could but like the design at the moment. The only part of the design i had to change was the colouring which i had to change to red and black instead of black and purple.

A compilation of my acts of kindness from Tom Robbins on Vimeo.
This video is a campaign to promote a certain idea which is to promote more acts of kindness in the society today. What the people do in the video do is campaign for different acts of kidness, for example they go to a football stadium and and everyone in the stadium hugs eacth other because they set up a free hug day. Also in the video it encourages people in the street to smile more and also a good deed desk which people came up to the desk and wrote down what good deed they were going to do for that day. What the video uses is a happy atmosphere and the video is a generally happy cheery video. It uses good music which is appropriate to the theme of the video.

This is my logo that i created for the creative and media course. I thought this design was appropriate to the course and the subject, we as a class designed different personal logos ourselves. We were ask to design these logos because one would be selected to go on the creative and media t-shirt. The reasons for me designing this particular design was that

history of t-shirts
T-Shirts have been at the height of fashion for many of years and have become an almost vital part to our everyday living. People from all over the world wear t-shirts everyday, they could be a variety of styles and designs, such as sports designs, fashion, political messages or just a plain t-shirt. T-shirts can just not be used for fashion purposes they can send all kinds of different messages such as political, social and advertising. T-shirts can be quite controversial with political messages.
Many people have tried to emulate certain styles from various icons, such as James Dean and his plain white t-shirt. There are also music t-shirts with a certain bands name or album art work on the front of the t-shirt, but that would come up as advertising. But t-shirts are manly used for fashion purposes with big brands such as Ralph Lauren, Lacoste and Fred Perry. T-shirts can be glamorized by putting sequins and shinny stuff.
